Work Week Day 2 aka Parasail Training

Ohh hey. The volunteers for work week are here and the camp is looking fantastic. I've been training with the guys Joey and Ben are training BJ, Charlie and I on the parasail boat on how to launch and drive the boat. It's sooooo stressful and there's a million things to learn but I'm getting the hang of it. After 8 hours on the boat (it was a perfect day by the way) I was exhausted. But I'm also doing program so my characters are shy jean and safety savannah. John and Peter do it with me and they are hilarious. Peter pretends to be Matthew McConnahay and John is a hick. Every day some of the guys and interns play Catan and that's a intense game but a lot of fun. My friend Eric also taught me how to catch a fish today and I did! Castaways fantastic and I'm loving every minute of it.

Castaway Bound!

Tomorrow's the big road trip to MN, 8 long hours in the car with the rents. After two long weeks of unpacking, cleaning, baseball games, more packing and even more baseball games, it's time to start the summer. I can't believe sophomore of college is done but I'm ready to keep going. I made a little slideshow of some pictures from sophomore year, here's the link http://www.picnik.com/show/id/8082876305_BTx34/t/picnik-show. The picture to the right is from the Cubs game we got to go to with Jake's team and the Cubs actually won (hah!). Time to go finish packing and cleaning and get some z's. Later!
p.s. I found this really awesome quote that's pretty inspiring.
'Our biggest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. it is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves: Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous or talented. Actually, who are you not ...to be. You are a child of God. You playing small doesn't serve t...he world. There is nothing enlightening about shrinking so others don't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some, but in all of us. And as we let our lights shine, we unconsciously ...give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our fear of excellence, our presence automatically liberates others and excellence becomes the standard of our lives.' -Nelson Mandela
